Zespół
Zespół Flyleaf powstał miejscowości Temple w Teksasie. Wcześniej byli tam znani jako "Passerby", ale w związku z kłopotami prawnymi do tej nazwy byli zmuszeni do jej zmiany. "Słowo flyleaf oznacza pustą kartkę na pierwszej stronie książki" - wyjaśnia wokalistka Lacey Mosley. "Jest to kartka przeznaczona na dedykację, miejsce gdzie wpisujemy tekst dla kogoś komu tę książkę dajemy. Takie też są nasze piosenki - osobistym przekazem dostarczającym trochę jasności, zanim cała ta historia się rozpocznie".

Sześć lat temu wokalistka Lacey Mosley rozpoczęła wspólne granie wraz z perkusistą James'em Culpepper'em. Następnie dołączyli do nich gitarzyści Jared Hartmann i Sameer Bhattacharya.
